Is it actually free?
The funded hours are government-subsidised — services cannot charge parents directly for these hours. Services can charge for hours beyond 20 per week, food and consumables, uniforms, and optional activities. Always ask the service what additional costs apply.
When can my child start?
From the first day of the term after their 3rd birthday, or from their 3rd birthday itself if the service agrees.
