Childcare Centre

Kindergarten

Home-based Care

Kōhanga Reo

They are managed by whānau (families) and aim to revitalise te reo Māori across generations. All activity, learning, and communication is conducted in te reo Māori. Related services include Puna Reo (Pasifika language nests) and Leo o Fanau Moana (Samoan language immersion).

Playcentre

Hospital-based ECE
Hospital-based ECE services operate within hospitals to support children who are patients or visiting family members. They are licenced ECE services and follow the same curriculum framework as other licensed services. There are a small number of these services nationwide.
